Launch & Platforms
- Early Access Launch Time in Your Time Zone▶ VideoArcheAge Chronicles launches into Early Access on Steam on Tuesday, November 3, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. PT — that's 6 p.m. ET and 23:00 UTC. In Europe and Asia it's already Wednesday, November 4: midnight in Berlin and Paris, 7 a.m. in Singapore, 8 a.m. in Seoul and Tokyo. It's PC (Steam) only for now.
- Price, Pre-Order Bonus and Is It Pay to Win?ArcheAge Chronicles is buy-to-play, not free to play: $29.99 on Steam (£26.99 / €29.99, regional pricing elsewhere). There's no subscription and no cash shop during Early Access, and XLGAMES has pledged it will never sell power — anything sold later is meant to be expansions, cosmetics or convenience. There's one edition; pre-orders add the Dawn Pioneer costume set.
- System Requirements, Storage and Steam DeckMinimum: Windows 10 64-bit, Intel i5-10400 / AMD Ryzen 5 3600, 16 GB RAM, RTX 2060 Super / RX 6600 (8 GB VRAM) — for 30 FPS at 1080p Low with upscaling. Recommended: Windows 11, i7-12700 / Ryzen 7 5700X, 32 GB RAM, RTX 4060 Ti 16 GB / RX 7700 XT (12 GB) for 60 FPS at 1080p High. Both need DirectX 12, an SSD and 100 GB free. Windows only — no Mac or Linux build.
- Demo vs Early Access: Does Your Progress Carry Over?No — demo progress does not carry over. XLGAMES' demo notes say progress and save data from the demo will not carry over to the Early Access version, so everyone starts fresh on November 3. The free Steam Next Fest demo ran October 19–26, 2026 and has ended; there's no playable version until Early Access.
- Servers, Regions and Pre-loadEarly Access runs servers in North America (East and West), Europe (Central), Asia (East and South), plus Brazil and Singapore. Your region is now chosen automatically from your location, with clearer labels on the server screen. There's no dedicated Oceania server announced. A pre-load hasn't been announced yet — we'll update this page if XLGAMES opens one.
- PS5, Xbox, Epic and CrossplayNot at launch. Early Access on November 3 is Steam on Windows only. PS5, Xbox Series X|S and the Epic Games Store are still planned — the game was first announced for all three in 2024 — but there's no console date, and crossplay hasn't been confirmed. It isn't on Game Pass, Mac or mobile.
Classes
- All Classes and Weapons▶ VideoEarly Access has 4 classes, each with 2 weapon types you can swap between in combat: Warrior (Longsword, Greatsword), Ranger (Hatchet, Longbow), Berserker (Axe & Shield, Warhammer) and Mage (Elemental Staff plus a two-handed blade). Classes are gender-locked at launch — the Warrior is male and the Mage female — with a female Warrior and the Warrior's third weapon, the Gladius, planned for December.
- Best Class: Which One Should You Pick?▶ VideoThere's no reliable tier list yet — XLGAMES rebalanced several weapons right after the demo, and combat feel is still being tuned. Pick by playstyle: Warrior for a forgiving all-round start, Berserker if you want to tank with a shield, Ranger for mobility and range, Mage for ranged magic burst. Every class can solo dungeons and story content, and PvP is opt-in, so you won't be locked out of anything.
Systems
- How PvP Works: Peace and Conflict Channels▶ VideoPvP is optional. Each zone is split into channels of about 100 players. In Peace (standard) channels players can't attack each other at all; in Conflict (PvP) channels anyone except your party and guild can attack you. You switch at a Nui Statue (there's a cooldown), and killing monsters in a PvP channel gives 10–15% bonus EXP. There are no rewards for killing players yet — just a kill log and PvP achievements.
- How Progression Works: Stats, Traits and Getting StrongerLevels give stat points (one point = one stat, across six stats). Trait points — which unlock new weapon skills — don't come from levels: you get them from Raeven's Coilstones, each guarded by a powerful boss. Nui Tears hidden around the world raise your max HP when you bring them to a Nui Statue. Most EXP comes from quests and exploration, not monster kills.
World
- What's in Early Access and What's Coming Next▶ VideoEarly Access opens three regions — most of Diamond Shores plus the new Gylden Ruins and Astron Plains (60+ areas, about 20× the demo) — with four classes (two weapons each), story and side quests, dungeons, field bosses, PvP channels, crafting, housing and trade. The first update in December is planned to add a female Warrior and a third Warrior weapon, the Gladius. Early Access is expected to last around 9–12 months; a roadmap comes soon after launch.
- ArcheAge Chronicles vs the Original ArcheAge▶ VideoArcheAge Chronicles is a new, standalone action RPG — not a sequel and not a remake — set in Auroria, the same world as the original ArcheAge (2013), about 50 years later. It was first announced as ArcheAge 2 and renamed in 2024 — the developers now say plainly that it isn't ArcheAge 2. Instead of tab-target MMO combat it uses action combat (dodge, block, parry), it's buy-to-play, and players share zones in channels of ~100. It's online with MMO features — parties, guilds, trade, PvP — but built so you can play most of it solo.
